Your engine wiring harness is a Motronic 1.0 harness for an M20B27 "eta" engine.

It came off of an engine with an eta bottom end and an i head. How are you able to tell? I was unable to find any part numbers on the harness itself. Any chance it is from a seta?

It's definitely possible to run an eta bottom end with an "i"head and the Motronic 1.0 engine control system that came on the eta. THE 1988 Super eta has the later Motronic 1.1/1/3 engine control system that came on the "i" cars, so the harness is not from that.

The giveaways that this is a Motronic 1.0 harness are:

        - Two row ECU connector (vs. three on the "i" cars)
        - Separate 12 pin connector for the idle control module (nothing on the "i" cars)
        - Black and grey connectors for the two bell housing reference sensors (zip tied together in your photo) (on the "i" cars they would be located next to the diagnostic port)
        - 4 connectors for the sensors at the thermostat housing (vs. two on the "i" cars)
        - Round front reference sensor connected directly to the diagnostic port.

        Good part regardless!
