    1992 M50 Engine For Sale

Hi all, I have for sale an M50 motor pulled out of a wrecked 525i some time in 2007. The motor has 123xxx miles on it and has been sitting in my possession for three years. I had plans to use this motor as a base for a turbo build in my '91 318is but I have since decided to turbo the M42 instead.

    The package:
    Long block
Intake manifold, fuel rail, throttle body, IAC
    AC compressor, alternator
*Might* have a flywheel for it, I have to check
    Full OBD1 wiring harness
    Exhaust manifolds

    You will need:
    Water pump
    Starter
    Serpentine belt
    Power steering pump

    The details and full disclosure:
I picked up this motor as a package when I bought my 318is three years ago and it has been stored ever since. Ports in the head were sealed and the pistons were oiled and cranked by hand once or twice a year for the three years it's been sitting. The only "bad" thing about this engine is that it was laying horizontal on a dolly, exhaust port side down, and as a result six of the twelve valves are damp with residual oil seeping past the valve guides. Apart from that, the motor appears to be in great condition. I have not done a compression test on the motor as it does not have a starter or flywheel hooked up. I also have a leak down tester but unfortunately the motor is in my garage at home with no air compressor. The motor does make even compression when cranking by hand with the plugs in.

The link below will take you to an imgur album of all the pictures I have of the motor. If you would like anything specific I would be happy to email them over upon request.

I will consider it if the interest is low for the whole package.
