    FS 9/10 cloth top

    new tensioner straps

These two areas were beginning to come apart. I hand sewed them up with the canvas thread.

window is crystal clear except for some very light scratches that can be worked out with a heat gun.

Only problems are the center of the frame below the rear window was dented in. I bent it into shape as best I could. You can see this in the pic of the rear window. Also the zipper mechanism is missing.

Also the longer one of these screws is missing on both sides. This can be swapped out of your existing frame

All seals are in new condition. This top was removed out of a powertop cab. However it will work with a manual top since my cab was power and is now a manual.

    $300

I'm very interested. Where are you located? Tell me a little more about the top--how old is it? How old are the seals? How long do you think your canvas thread is going to last? Where is it from?

I have a horrible top that needs to be replaced, but if this top is in great condition you'll have yourself a sale. I've seen pictures of your cars and know you take good care of them, so let me know. Shipping would be to 84065.

Do you see any problems installing this top on an '88?

I found this top at a junkyard where the car was rear ended pretty bad, therefore the center of the frame below the window was dented in.
The top folds freely open and close.

I do not now how old the top is, but judging by the canvas material/straps/seals is maybe a year or two old. There are NO scuff or wear marks on the cloth top. The cloth lasts about 5+ years? Not sure. The rear window will need to be replaced before the top. The only seal that might need to be replaced is the front/side window seal since the right corner is broken, but this can be sealed with silicon.

As far as installation, there are three nuts on the L brackets at the base of the frame that need bolt the top to the car. Thats it. I have alot of extra shims to adjust the height if needed.

I'll have to weigh the top and probably build a small crate to shipp to avoid damaging it during shipping if willing to pay. Its Heavy.

I don't forsee any problems with installing this on a 88. but I'll take pictures of the L brackets so you can compare to yours later.

Hmmm. The rear-ending worries me a little bit. Are there any fitment problems? Is the frame rusted at all? Do you see a problem with the bottom of the top meeting up with the top of the car? Would you mind taking a picture of the bottom of the top with a board or something underneath it to get a better idea of how level the bar is?

My top is sixteen years old. You wouldn't believe how horrible it is. I'm interested in getting a slightly used top (because a new one is $1200+), but only if it's not bent out of shape. I appreciate your quick response--keep me posted. I'll PM you my email.

          more pics

Price reduced to $200. After working on it for a while, I noticed one of the L brackets was bent a little causing it to scrap when folding. ALso one of the slipcovers on the shock was missing and two more screws were missing on the frame. These problems did not cause any problems when folding except a slight hesitation when the L bracket came in contact with the frame.
