***SOLD***
I picked this up thinking I'd get back into the E30 game but that is likely further out than I'd like to admit...
Great shifter/boot combo in very good condition. It is NOT illuminated. The leather is VERY soft and was recently cleaned with Murphy's oil soap and conditioned with Lexol leather conditioner.
The leather boot is in fantastic shape that I'd give an honest 9.5. No ripped stitches, clean inside and out, a proper notquitemattenotquitesatin finish as leather should be and no lifting of the frame from the leather at the base. If I was being incredibly anal there is one very small spot roughly smaller than the head of an eraser where it appears it rubbed on the console. Again VERY small, not a tear/rip/crust but a hair more shiny and likely just from going into R. Installed and the boot 'scrunched' I doubt it would be noticeable...
The knob is also in fantastic shape but for obvious reasons, has some actual wear in the palm area on the back and where your hand would reach around. I didn't play with it but I'm sure some light dye or maybe even black shoe polish would bring it back to 100%. There are a few odd 'poked' marks but nothing major (think if you poked leather with a pencil) along with one small nick where the top meets the emblem at roughy 7 o'clock. Again all VERY minor and I'm being incredibly anal here with regard the quality.
The emblem is in ok shape and before my ownership looks to have been removed, and markered on the back where the foil separated with the glue. Only noticeable at just the right angle. It pops off with effort, otherwise stays seated. I did NOT glue it down as the new owner may want to spend $10 on another style emblem. I was going to replace it but as there are multiple types, thought the new owner could buy and replace with what they want.
It's an honest, great knob that you'll love in your E30! I had the illuminated one in my previous E30 (though not hooked up...) and loved it!
$70 shipped in the lower 48
Thanks!
*I unfortunately do not have a macro lens so I could only get so close! If you want super close ups I can try my iPhone, smaller camera or just zoom, crop and send to you.
