    feeler. M42 engine and tranmission

I will soon be selling my engine and transmission, including all sensors, computer, harness, manifolds, nuts, bolts, hoses. The engine runs very well, and in my 1 1/5 years owning this car i have never had a problem with it. It has about 175k on it but only about 40k since a rebuild. Ill have to look up the exact miles when it was rebuilt but it is around that much. Runs good and pulls hard up to 7k.

Oil changed every 3-4k with either mobil 1 or castrol syntec. I wont lie and say that i dont ever run it hard, because i do every once in a while, but it is never in an abusive fasion and isn't an everyday thing. Burns a little oil, only a half a quart or so an oil change, which is well within reason and pretty normal for most all cars. Does not smoke at all. Just got it smogged a few days ago and it passed VERY well at a California Test Only station that uses a dynometer. I can post up the numbers if anyone is interested.

Transmission is very smooth, never grinds. Has a short shifter on it that makes the throws very precise. No powershifting or high rpm clutch drops done on this tranny. Clutch grabs nice.

All of this is in very good condition but i will say that it is NOT perfect. The valve cover on the engine has a bolt that is stripped and should be re-tapped for it to work properly. It does not leak from this area at all and this does not affect the engine in anyway but i thought it should be known. Also some of the vacume lines on the engine should be replaced as a few of them are cracking slightly. Again these are not big problems but they should be made known to the buyer.

The engine is still in the car and i will work on getting some pics and a vid or two of it up for those of you that are interested. The engine is very clean and impresses everyone that i show. Thanks for looking!!

I might be interested in the engine. But i would like to see a recept or something that states what all was performed for the "rebuild"

I dont think i have the documents stating what was performed during the rebuild. The rebuild was done before i owned the car by a friend of mine who works at LIC motorsports in Navato California. From what i remember him telling me it was mainly new rings, honed, gaskets, water pump, valve seals and that kind of stuff. Ill look into finding in more detail all of the work performed on the engine. If i cant find it ill give him a call and see if he can tell me what was done.
