I think that vert part is to adjust the way the rear of the top sits. Why do you say its late? I have an 87 $ 89, LMK about what year it came from and Ill take it if I think I can use it.

I say late because I pulled it a couple years ago from a cabrio with a motor. I was going to pull the motor but i didn't have time so I found this interesting part and did a 5 finger discount. So its free... Just pay shipping or send me a self addressed stamped envelope for me to put it in the mail. It may fit other years but I'm almost positive that its for a late model. Up to you if you want it.
