Getrag 265 Bellhousing for M20 (Seattle)

Left over from a customer project, I have a super-rare bellhousing to mate a G265 trans to an M20. If you bothered to read this, you probably know about the Getrag 265 "Hi-Torque" transmission... Overdrive versions in 5- and 7-series, close-ratio version in the E30 M3. Volvo and Mercedes guys love to use them for high-power builds because they are so strong.

The G265 is a removable-bellhousing trans, so the bellhousing change is easy. Most of them have the M10/M30/S14/S38 bellhousing pattern, though, making it hard to use them for high-powered M20 (turbo, anyone?) applications. Only a single year of 528e used the trans and has the correct bellhousing.

But I wound up with one left over from a recent project! So long story short, if you are building a high-powered M20 (or M50) based car, I have the bellhousing you need to support your 600hp drivetrain (or allow you to use a close-ratio G265 from an M3!).

Asking $300, willing to ship but it'll probably cost about $30 since it is a pretty bulky item.

Please email directly at midnightmotorsport@yahoo.com for more info.

Note: this bellhousing has the Motronic 1.1-style sensor bungs in the bottom (like an M3 or a 325e). They shouldn't get in the way at all, but if you would like to discuss having me cut them out and weld a blank plate in place, I am happy to entertain that.

Second note: If you have an M10-powered 318i, I have an extra G240 trans to sell you on the cheap. Might throw up a second post about that.

Thanks, I know the part isn't for everyone, but for that one guy building a really high-powered car (or a diesel! The 524td guys love the swap for holding all that torque), it is just the right necessary piece. I hope it finds a good home.
