i dont know about your e30, but mine has a locking module on the gas tank door OEM. therefore if your central locking unit went out, and u have no way to lock/unlock the gas door, this would complete the kit so that u could completely bypass the central locking unit. FYI.

or you could just use the oem actuator and let this unit control everything. i have all oem actuators with a keyless alarm and all my locks work with the transmitter.

er...you could just pop the trunk and manually release the gas tank lock. I don't think I've ever had one that worked anyways :)
