I pay to have that done and rarely have time. I ask prices reflecting my expense. I am not competing with someone who has the advantage of taking it out for free. What? If you're buying parts from a wrecker to flip then you just buy the diff off the shelf at a price, they rarely charge to remove parts.

You're seriously suggesting you paid someone $500 to go down to Pick A Part for you to remove a diff? Or did you pay a mechanic to swap the output flanges and rear plate, which is a very easy DIY job with a tyre lever and a couple of spanners?

No. Removal of 3.25 from the 535is, swapping of rear n sides, fresh seals and oil.

No wreckers straight mechanic. And I don’t buy parts from wreckers to flip. I have my own projects that these parts come out of whether I pay to have em removed or DIY. 90% of my for sale items are from my personal collection and have a much more significant value to me than would an item I just flip for profit. That would make me a business which I’m not ....but I’m working on that and hope to use all this drama as a platform to launch that .....

The other one is rebuilt and is priced accordingly. No labour charges just the price of a newly rebuilt diff.
