E30 Cup holders!!!!!

hey guys, I am Arron and are from the deep south of the world in new zealand! currently studying mechatronics engineering and along with that i also have a whole bunch of cool projects going on and this is one of them!

I am unsure if this is the right place to post them so if it isnt feel free to move it!

After 18 months of development and design, I am
pleased to present to you all the mighty E30 cup
holders!!!
After being asked by many people if i would consider
producing a e30 cup holder I took the challenge on ad
this is what has come from that!! They are vacuum formed out of abs in 4 pieces and
pieces together to form a original looking cup holder
These fit Into the centre console just down between
the seats, and are made out of a textured plastic
which is pretty close to the factory vinyl finish!!!

Is there any pics with drinks in them? How well does that fit in the console slot? I’d be worried about the whole thing popping off with drinks in it... how does the front facing the radio look? Any pics of that? Thanks

This looks like a nice piece.

You could always use some double sided tape or silicone to secure it in place if you were worried about it coming loose during spirited driving.

hey there!!

i will chuck up some more photos tomorrow of them installed in a car, defiantly not going to fall over whilst in the car, and there is also a option for double sided taping them aswell!!

Nice option. You can Velcro it at the bottom. Just incase you need to remove it.

I'm interested too, and I too am curious about the size of the cavities. I'm also curious how well the texture matches the OEM center console. Great looking product though and great price IMO.

okeydokey!!!

pictures of them installed are added onto the first post

the cups are 45mm deep (deep enough that cans will not fall over!!)
they are 69mm in diameter ( big enough for standard cans, coffee cups, maccas cups, v bottles ect)

They are a looser fitting unit to prevent damage to the centre console, however double sided tape is supplied to ensure they done come out!

Very nice, much closer finish to OEM than a similar setup I've seen in the past. I'm gonna have to pick one up!
