On all E30's, the Map Light wiring is found within the driver side foot well speaker location.
Pull the cover, and then pull the speaker out. The plug is taped up along some other wiring. If your map light still has the original wiring, just run it down your A pillar, and it plugs in directly, with no splicing. *thumbsup*

I didn’t realize all e30’s had the outlet. So there is a plug on the mirror side and a plug in the foot well with a jumper wire connecting both of them?
