Those adjustable headlights I have never seen a functional set of them in 30 years. Everyone just puts the switch in and the wipers on and yet to see a e30 with working adjustable lights.

The car we scrapped still had the system but they were such a mess it wasn't worth attempting to get working again. They didn't work well when new, either.

It's hydraulic, so they develop leaks over time. There's no easy way to bleed the system either, so refilling and refurbishing the system is not worth it.

I deleted the system on my touring, just more clutter going through the firewall and under the dash.

I know about their complexity which is insane the way it’s made. I wonder what the average amount of time those systems function for before they mess up. They should have used electrical actuators in place of the hydraulic system. It would have actually been dependable. I remember reading a while back on one of the forums where a guy re did his system and used electrical actuators and it worked. No bleeding just hook up the wires. Why didn’t they do that at the factory. Also he was able to modify the knee bolster switch to where it controls the electrical switches and it looked factory from the outside, but it worked. Lol
