    M30 on the bay

Here's an engine my friend is selling:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-M30-Engine-Complete-535i-635csi-735i-Motor...
This auction is for a 3.5 Liter BMW M30 engine out of an '87 535is. It was a good runner w/ Approx. 130k miles.
I honestly know very little about it but he's more than willing to answer questions if you have them. 866-563-8910 - Alex at AVA Restoration.

I've been helping him clean out his shop some by listing some of his stuff on ebay and I know he has a ton of parts to go still so if you're local and you need something let him (or myself) know and I'm sure we'll be able to dig something up for you!

    Thanks,
    Brendan

Dang, I would think about this but the work involved in putting an m30 in the e30 is kinda a bitch. Makes the m50 swap look easier. I actually think that it is. Good luck, good deal too.

Is it really tricky to get in? I was wondering about doing this swap myself...

Fitting it physically is NOT a huge deal, but exhaust fabrication can be tricky, and getting the driveshaft lengths correct might also be difficult. I have heard that some front half / rear half combos make the correct length, but I'm not there yet... Also, the wiring can be a little tricky, especially depending on the chassis and engine wiring, but it's not impossible.

Well I I don't expect the bidding to go up much so if anyone needs an M30 this is a decent deal.

your kidding right? you can get the mounts on e30.de or have a shop custom make them. You use the driveshafts from an E28, and need the oil pan/pump from the E34 M30. Its a pretty easy swap, pretty much bolt in with the right parts

Well if that's the case I'm 99% positive Alex has, or get, everything you mentioned above. I'm sure if you wanted he'd even install it for you, he only charges $60 an hour.
