any info on what makes these piston different from US ones?

Is the bore the same?

They're Mahle pistons, stock in Europe for early 325i/is's without cats --- they're 9.4:1 compression, with the same bore.

Some are 9.7:1 some are 9.4:1 there are two specs.

Keep them incase you damage one down the road.
