    FS: '97 M3 steering rack

For sale is a steering rack from a '97 M3. I've had it in my car for about a year and it functions perfectly and does not leak. It has a quicker steering ratio than the stock e30 rack.
You can have it for $230 shipped.

What's the difference between this and the 95 m3 rack? Is this one 3 turns lock to lock?

This one is not quite as quick of a ratio as the '95 m3 rack. It is about 3.25 turns lock to lock.

It's the same rack you find in most all E36 cars except the 95 M3. How many miles are on your rack erik?

Thanks for the info boys! I'm gonna have to test drive the 2.7,3.0, 3.25 before I can determine which L to L ratio is right for me. Good luck with the sale!

I forgot exactly how many miles were on on it when I bought it because it was over a year ago. I'll try to dig though my old PMs to see if I can find out though.

The 2.7 shortens your turn to lock ratio because it does not offer the same turning radius. Stick to a 3.0 or a 3.25. If money is no object then go 3.0 if it then the 3.25 just fine and you will probably not notice the difference that much. Anything will be an improvement over the 4.0 stock rack in it now.

Thanks Skillet. I think it's time you wrote a 101 E30 projects book.
