EDIT: I am looking for a low mileage 3.73 LSD rear, could arrange a trade+ cash.... Trades also considered for exhaust... I need some new wheels (hint).

In the $300 range, I guess it just depends on the seller.

working on getting pics, just removed the items from the vehicle last night.... the exhaust is quiet and mellow at idle and has a nice throaty bark to it torwards redline... no buzzy ricey sound, I specifically asked stebro to build it that way!

This has definently been one of my issues with this diff. The tag does not have an "s" displayed on it. I've autocrossed, and tracked with this diff and it has never displayed the characterstics of an open diff, which is what this one replaced. It is a medium case, 4.10 lsd, taken from an e30 M3.

Is there an "S" stamped anywhere on that diff, just like this one?

Underneath the grime and stuff there is an "S" that looks to be painted on.

If you hold one output shaft and try and turn the other, you shouldnt be able to.

This is not true, most clutch type lsd's only function when both wheels are touching the ground... it will even spin a wheel like an open diff when one wheel loses contact with the ground. With no / little input torque (trailing throttle / gearbox in neutral / main clutch depressed) the drive wheels are still coupled somewhat as the clutches are always in contact to some degree, producing friction. The amount of preload (hence static coupling) on the clutches is determined by the general condition (wear) of the clutches and by how tightly they are shimmed. All depends on how much torque is being delivered to the wheels.
