Feeler: M50 Vanos w/ harness

I picked up a 92 parts car this weekend with a M50 vanos motor. The car was orginally from a police impound from an attempted car theft. I bought it from a guy in GA that purchased it to restore but never finished the project because it was too much for him to take on. I toyed with the idea of doing my own Vanos swap buy the wife says not until I get my car painted first.

I'm still waiting until this weekend to hook up a new ignition and to run a compression test. I was told the engine was from a 95 325i but they could never get it started right (because they were trying to start it with the original non-vanos 402 DME). Once I yank it out of the car this upcoming weekend I will confirm where it came from by running the VIN on the block through CarFax.

If I confirm everything to be ok who would be interested in buying it for say $750 w/ harness & local pickup?

Unfortunately no. But I can get the engine onto a pallet or crate to prep for freight pickup if someone was seriously interested. As long as they would be willing to pay a little extra for the materials I would have to buy to pack it up.
