FS: RARE Momo typV36 steering wheel 350mm *SOLD*

I'm selling an extra Momo wheel I had picked up a while back. It's identical to the one in my car now. It's in great shape overall, and comes with the BMW roundel and E30 hub so it's a direct fit. The wheel is 350mm, smaller than the M-tech II steering wheel. It's has the integral horn pads on the top spokes, so you don't have to move your hands to blow the horn.

The leather is in great shape, the stitching is good, and there are only minor scuffs. The only bad really is the seams on the inside of the rim have split some, but you really don't notice it unless you are looking for it. It doesn't affect the feel in any way, and it isn't at all loose.

Right now, I need some extra cash, so I'm reluctantly letting this go. These are virtually impossible to find, especially in good shape. They were last made around 1990 best I can tell. Alecs MacDonald can attest to this wheels condition as I let him "borrow" it for few weeks in his E30 M3.

The roundels alone go for about $50 on ebay when you can find them, and the hubs go for about $50 as well.

First $325 gets it, including shipping.

Paypal preferred, but only if you have a Paypal balance or it's drawn directly from a bank account. I'm not set up to handle credit cards, period.

Fuck that was fast. Dammit, I wanted this.

Airbag wheels you have to buy the washer ($5 BMW part) and then you have to deal with the stalks being closer to the wheel. Or does it? Did you have an airbag wheel RCWells?

"HAD" and airbag wheel, yes. You do have to use a spacer to make another wheel fit properly, even an M-tech II (not sure of the M-tech I, never have tried one of those).

I used some metal washers, can't recall the size, and a section of PVC pipe cut to fit. I did this trick twice (once on 'Ol Blackie) and it worked great.

Oh and Dan is right, I had forgotten about the stalks. The wheel even when properly spaced is slightly closer to the stalks. I bent mine back just a bit with some locking pliers and it was fine. I even had to do this with the M-tech II though, so I guess you would have to do something with any other wheel. Eric had installed two M-tech IIs on his E30 M3s, and never bent the stalks back, he just adjusted his grip to allow room for knuckle passage.

Wow I never thought about just bending the stocks. Thats a much better approach then buying new non-airbag stalks!

There is a spacer that is an OEM BMW part, I do not have the number off the top of my head. It is what spaces the wheel out.

EDIT: 32-31-1-120-260 $5.21 14mm ring does the trick.

BTW for the airbag spacer thing, you can just get the spacer thats on a non airbag car....and slip it right over...fits perfect...
