here is a link that will show you what it looks like installed and where it mounts. http://www.sparcousa.com/resourceFiles/49.pdf
I just bought a 1987 325is with this in it and I am putting in a full cage during a SpecE30 conversion.
          Thanks

I have one that used to be installed in my M3. It fits up fine and theoretically people can still sit in the back seat if they are willing to climb under the bar.

This is the only picture I have that actually shows it installed. Gives you an idea though.

I would deff not let anyone in the back, their head hits that bar and you are in some pretty big trouble!

I wonder how much good that bar does with the harness straps under the bar, not over it. That's the Schroth harness, correct? I'm still iffy on the whole design, with such an angle behind the seat. Conventional wisdom says no more than 10° below horizontal.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that those harnesses are NOT CONNECTED to the harness bar. They never were, I just posted that picture to show people how it mounted.

Those harnesses were mounted down to the rear seatbelt bolts. And yes, while it was a larger angle than is generally recommended, the Recaros had seatbelt loops at shoulder level that should keep the shoulders from being crushed in an accident.

Never had to test it! ; )

^ Anyway you look @ it. That seat-belt is improperly installed. I suggest you either mount it to the top seat-belt bolt or over that harness bar. That seat strap will not suffice in a crash. Trust me on this one. Nice car though.
