    Hokay, I gots more questionz.

    1. Can you lose the AFM? What woudl you want me to do instead, use speeed density or MAF or what?

    2. Is a different TPS required? Wasn't it the E36 TPS that bolts in?

    3. How far can you take this one? As in can you change the MAP sensor adn be turbo-ready? Can you control a wastegate with this?

    4. Is it possible to add a knock sensor on this? I understand that an M20 is too noisy to use one, but what about an M50?

    5. I cannot seem to find a picture of the LCD. Do you have one?

    6. If I were to have a car-puter, would it be able to display tuning data (RPM, A/F R, timing, whaddevah) adn show it on a monitor? Can you make changes while driving?

    Thanks!
    Luke

I could possibly do one, not sure if there is not enough room inside the m42 ecu case for the megasquirt board. If you can get me some dimensions of the case I can check if it would fit.

you can still use the megastim board. I utilized a different DB37 plug so you can unplug the ecu plug and plug in the stim board. Or reuse the board for a different application. I did not want to directly solder the wires to the board so I found a verticle versus horizontal db37 that would still fit in the case.

The ones I saw were not coil-on-plug, but looked like 2 groups of 2, with wires. I wanna make a coilpack on my firewall, just for looks.

    Thanks!

Does anyone know if M42 coil packs could be used? Seems like they are 2 sets of 2, so adding a 3rd pair should be easy.

Can you do the video display output of this on an LCD?

    Thanks,
    Luke

Where were you over a year ago when I had to do this all on my own... Only downside I see is no use of a megastim..

If I ever build a new chassis, I will be ordering one from you just to ensure that I have a clean product.

you could change it to run waste spark pretty easily, a good number of people have been using gm coils with good results, all you need are 2 additional coil drivers, the coils and spark plug wires. Then you can ditch the stock cap and rotor.

Ya you can use megaview to display info easily somewhere on the dash

started a topic Custom Plug and play Megasquirt systems

Custom Plug and play Megasquirt systems

I built one of these for my car and have a good bit of interest to start making them for others. It's a 95% plug and play setup for any 325i. Additional items needed are a variable TPS, Intake air temp sensor, and some minor wiring to the main relay, and possibly a wideband o2 sensor if you plan to tune yourself. Features include a v3.0 main board with spark control all housed inside a stock 325i ecu. You can simply unplug your stock ecu, and plug the new megasquirt box right in. Here are some pictures of the setup

Ok here is the current pricing

Eta setups(includes ecu and adapter cable for 325i VR sensor, you'll need the 325i VR sensor, pulley and bracket)
    ms1-$600
    ms2-$700

    325i setups
    ms1-$550
    ms2-$650

All setups also have a $40 extra ecu core charge if you don't supply your old ecu.

Add on options include(these prices only good with purchase of a plug and play unit)
    external USB-serial adapter-$20
    variable TPS-$40(plus $15 core charge)
air intake sensor with wiring pigtail-$40
    Innovate lc-1 wideband-$200
