Eh, with Fedex Ground it should be around $90 coast to coast to a business address. 150 lb max, so even with around 10 lbs of packing material and box you should be fine.

A double corrugated "Dish Barrel Box" is what you want to ship the block in. It is around 18x18x28" in most instances, and is the perfect size for shipping a shortblock. Just be sure to double box it.

A hassle for sure, but if the only bites are from people who need it shipped...

no need to take it apart, it weighs in around 130 complete. I Can ship thats not the issue, I'd rather not tho because its a hassle and it's expensive.
    bump,

will include new guides, tensioners, timing chains and case gaskets

that block as it sits is probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 200lbs. Throw it on a pallet, and call bax global up.

You can also put a non-vanos head on this sucker.

If you remove the crank and pistons it will weight much less. I can lift an empty M50 steel block by myself so I know an empty aluminum block would be even lighter.

Get a big ass Rubbermaid container from Wal-Mart for $15 and pack it in that and ship it via FedEx or UPS. Probably cost you $50-$60 tops. I shipped an entire 5spd swap for a 635csi in a big ass Rubbermaid container for $85 via FedEx Ground so I know it's feasible.

You can also remove the crank, pistons, and rods and ship it through Fedex Ground to a business address, and separately box up the crank, pistons, and rods.

I did this a few months ago with an S50. The S50 block weighs around 105 lbs, and with all the packing material it weighed around 120 or so. Shipping wasn't too out of control for pricing. The crank weighs around 55-60 lbs.

take it to R+L carriers or DHL or some other freight shipper. They wrap it in industrial seran wrap, put it on a pallet, and ship it to a business address (one with a loading dock).
