R134 Air Conditioning System (Almost Complete)

So, I am prepping a Spec E30 car - BMW 325i 10/88 build (face-lift) car. This weekend I removed the entire A/C system from the car. It was 100% functional and cold when I pulled it. I removed everything from the car - everything (lines, condenser, evaporator, compressor). I put a new compressor in last year (when I bought it, the original was dead). I did have a casualty along the way - I twisted the line going to the condenser and snapped it during removal, so the system has everything but that and the belt (easier to cut it than remove the alternator belt).

Net is, if you buy this, and add a condenser, you can add A/C to a car that never had it (but I think all North American 325i had A/C), or you can use my parts to upgrade your R12 to R134, or, you can buy all the parts, and replace what is broken.

By the way - the R12 and R134 Condenser is the same - so if your condenser is good, you are set.

Some of the fins on the evaporator are bent a bit from removal - of course, this mounts under the dash, and this is inevitable. Should not affect operation.

I'd like to do Paypal. First $300.00 plus shipping in my account gets the setup. Add shipping from 34683 - what ever transport you want (prefer local pickup). I haven't boxed it yet, but I'd guess ~30 lbs boxed.

Don't ask me to split this up - I won't. All the parts look like BMW parts (the lines have the stocking tags still on them from when the previous owner did the retrofit).

I don't know anything about installation - all I can say is that it worked when I pulled it (I specialize in removal only). I will include the dryer, but that may need to be replaced (I think it is no good when you open the system - I could be wrong here).

Do you (or anyone else who sees this) know if this would work with my 325es? I highly doubt it would since the engines are different and everything, but I'm not that experienced with e30's so didn't know. thanks

and crank and many other things.. but that doesnt matter..

the engine will still turn the compressor belt.. and that is all that the engine has to do with the a/c system.

Looking at www.realoem.com - there really isn't any difference between A/C systems. The only big difference in A/C between cars is the newer R134a and the R12 systems. This is the later R134a system, and is an upgrade to the R12 systems.

FYI, the drier is trash since it was exposed to open air. The desiccant inside absorbs moisture from the system and need to be replaced every time the system is opened. Too bad I'm broke, I'd buy it, its hot here...

33 pounds, boxed with lots of bubble wrap.

I want to be clear, as the above post might not be.....

I wrecked the condenser (the little radiator thing in front of the real radiator). This is not R12 or R134a specific - if you have one in your car, and it does not have a hole in it, it will work, no matter when your car was built. The way I wrote it originally, you could read that it was the line to the condenser - that is not the case.

To recap - to have functional R134a A/C, you will need:
Some R134a refrigerant (like 5-10 bucks from the parts store)
                              A working condenser (probably free)
A new dryer (unless you want to give the included one a try - I would not)
I would also replace the O -Rings (I don't know which, but there are less than 5 in the system)
                              GASKET RING D=7,65MM 64508390601 $1.12
                              GASKET RING D=6.8MM 64508390605 $3.15
                              GASKET RING D=11.1MM 64508390602 $1.24
                              GASKET RING D=14MM 64508390603 $0.67
                              GASKET RING D=17MM 64508390604 $0.97

                              An A/C Compressor Belt (64521706826 $7.25)
The stuff I have for sale here...
