    E34 525i motor

M50 motor, 130-140k miles. Runs fine, everything comes with it. I want $600-500 for it depending on the quickness of a pickup. Its located in MA, Boston area.

Still tempted but I don't have a car to put it in this second and my garage is packed to the friggen roof. Still damn tempted though....I'll definitely be in touoch, feel free to get back to me and try to talk me into it :P

How's the head gasket? If all is well we could probably use this for a 525 that's coming into the shop next week.

                  negative 2 X's.

If a customer wants a motor and doesn't want to pay for it rebuilt there's no harm in dropping a used motor in. I don't think they were intending on tearing down the head putting new lifters in, valve job, getting ARP studs and reusing the head gasket. He was just asking if the motor is good to go as is.

Fidhle in exchange for vouching give me a couple days to figure stuff out and decide if I want it, it's practically in my back yard I really should get it, just don't have any e30's that need new motors right now :)

The head gasket seems nice, there was no smoke when it ran, coolant was not mixed with oil.

Let me know guys, I need that thing out f the garage ASAP.

Thanks Mossman, sometimes people just can't comprehend it seems...

We have a 525 that came in on friday with a toasted headgasket. The owner (who occasionally posts here ;)) want's to keep it affordable so the simplest thing will probably be to find a motor that's NOT blown to either swap in, or use for parts. I'll have to check into this more on monday but this seems like a plausible candidate. Mossman, maybe you want the old one for cheap? Rebuild and let 'er rip...
