I've got a complete M52TU from a '99 528i- aluminum block and head, double vanos. I bought this to fix and swap into an E30, but have since found an S50.
Engine was pulled from a '99 528i at ~130k due to blown head gasket. I have not done any further diagnosis to confirm that this was the problem, but this is what the shop that replaced the engine told the owner. Engine is complete with most accessories but no DME. See pics for an idea of exactly what is included.
Asking $1950 + shipping. Located near Raleigh, NC- local pickup welcome.
Please do not ask me for shipping quote, I will be glad to strap this to a pallet and drop it off at any local (Raleigh/Durham, NC area) trucking or shipping company, but you will need to make the arrangements with the shipping/trucking company.
AFAIK, this block is NOT compatible with the M/S 50/52 head (coolant passages do not line up), BUT the internals are a nice upgrade and drop right in- forged crank and coated pistons.
