its an AFM not MAF. and no im not interested in the "meter", more interested in giving you a hard time.
Thats right, it measures air. Im sure theres more productive things to do than give people a hard time, you might want to see a professional about that.
If your not interested do not post. This is in the for sale section and im trying to sell something. This is not a discussion on MAF vs AFM.
I think we should ban sticks from the fiddle player because hes sticking them where he shouldnt be.
I am not interested in buying your falsely described automative part.
MAF: A hot wire mass airflow sensor determines the mass of air flowing into the engine’s air intake system. This is achieved by heating a wire with an electric current that is suspended in the engine’s air stream, not unlike a toaster wire. The wire's electrical resistance increases with the wire’s temperature, which limits electrical current flowing through the circuit. When air flows past the wire, the wire cools decreasing its resistance, which in turn allows more current to flow through the circuit. As more current flows, the wire’s temperature increases until the resistance reaches equilibrium again. The amount of current required to maintain the wire’s electrical resistance is directly proportional to the mass of air flowing past the wire. The integrated electronic circuit converts the measurement of current into a voltage signal which is sent to the ECU.
AFM: The Air Flow Meter (AFM), was one of the first airflow sensors in use and has been largely phased out of new car production. In a AFM, or as it’s commonly called, “flapper-style” air flow meter, intake air flow exerts force against the surface area of a measuring plate, which is deflected in proportion to the volume of air flow meeting the plate. Movement of the measuring plate is transferred through a shaft to a slider on a potentiometer resistor, which produces a variable voltage signal proportional to the air intake volume. Once air volume, expressed as force exerted over a surface area, is measured, air mass is calculated in conjunction with an air temperature sensor.
Read how it measure air, completely different concepts.
Good point.
Does this maf come with standalone management or a piggyback system, seems like a good price for a maf, plus, I don't think I have ever seen a maf that has an 027 ending.... this could be HUGE!!!!!!!!
I would have been happily corrected by someone that needs it and not someone trolling around the for sale threads. It has a part number so if you call it maf or afm someone cant get ripped either way and they know what your talking about anyway.
