Modified strut tubes for GC coilovers.

I'm in the process of installing my 5 lug so I no longer need these. These have been shortened and have the new perch for the threaded sleeve. They also have the E30 M3 sway bar mounting points that have been reinforced as well.

$135 shipped for the pair including wheel hubs. These came off my 89 with 120k on it. I prefer Paypal.

I apologize guys, but if you want I have a set of unmodified strut tubes that I'll sell to anyone who wants to alter a set for coilovers. I grabbed these so I wouldn't have to bother getting someone to do the metal work.

I know this is an old thread, but i have a couple of quick questions. Im going to get a set of GC coilovers soon. I called GC today and they said most e30s run 6" springs in the front and 5" springs in the rear. Is that what you have? Im probably going to run 450f/650r as far as spring rate. Anyway im going to shorten my strut tube about 1 inch and I want to confirm that this is where im going to cut.

Is there any other modifications that I would need to do after cutting the strut tube? other than maybe camber plates.

your strut tube should still have the collar on it if it is stock, you can cut right below that. definitely get camber plates.

Thanks man. Another stupid question. Are the camber plates similar to the collar? do i need weld anything after I cut the strut tube? How does the camber plate work?

Sir. On the Ground Control site they have the instructions somewhere. There is also plenty of links/details on this process in the suspension section of this site.. I think you need to do a bit more research before cutting up your front suspension. Camber plate are where the top of the front suspension mounts to the car. No cutting/welding necessary on those things.

Thanks for the picture. Im both on the GC website and searching. Im not doing any cutting for now. I havent even ordered the Coilovers yet. Just trying to get a feel of what im going to have to do to get the suspension that I want. Thanks for the pic.
