If you have a convertible, drive your down & install it at Rig's place & drive back. If that sounds crazy, then you know what Rig was thinking when you asked him to do the exact same thing.

He was being nice & didn't even factor the math for his return trip gas.

Face it, he's not shipping & the gas alone for a round trip would be $1200 @ 14 MPG (are converts really that bad?)

Fly your butt down there & rent a U-haul if you need it so bad, that would be your cheapest way to go.

14mpg is what my truck gets- my '92 318iC is not currently on the road- waiting for a new M42, so I don't have an E30 'vert to drive right now.

None of this takes my time into consideration either- it's just not worth it for me- unless the guy wants to pay me for fuel and expenses, plus something for my time- then you're into the $1500-2000 range just for delivery.....

I said that I don't have a cabrio to drive, so I would have to haul it in my TRUCK- a '96 F350 diesel which gets about 14 mpg.........

well, no offense meant, but its like the holy grail of tops.

i just want one so i can make a carbon fiber mold to it, and make at least 4 for me and a few friends, than sell em on a mass money making scale (it costs about 30 bucks materials to make one w/fiberglass, and 130 w/carbon fiber)

but really i just want the knock off shape, and will do tiny modifications to one, like remove the need to re-adjust the windows.

If you make me a carbon fiber top you can borrow mine for the mold.......maybe. :D
