Filing the dispute with PayPal takes 20 minutes and you can take it straight to a complaint with a click and a quick comment. Thanks for the phone number, I'll be keeping that around. This is mail fraud, a federal offense pure and simple.

Hey guys, just an fyi, i am not Chris. My name is Keith, I live in Fort Mill, SC and go to school at USC Columbia, SC. I love the e30 crowd and wouldn't want to spoil my name with anybody.

Ive tried to call him a couple of times for the tracking number but can not get a hold of him. I understand that a lot of you are very upset and I do not blame you, I would be very upset also. Honestly, when I stepped in to help, I didn't realize this was happening on 4 or so boards at the same time. I thought it was just this one.

Ive tried to help him out, but I can only do so much. With him not providing me with the tracking numbers there is nothing else I can do.

Like I said, he told me that he shipped them out via DHL but all I have to go on is his word.

I guess the only thing to do now is for you guys to do what you have to do. Whether chalk it off, file claims via pay pal, credit card companies, or whatever.

I hate to see things go down this way, its very unfortunate.

Escalated dispute with Paypal and I would suggest that everyone who is interested in getting their money back do the same.

The reason I selected for escalating the claim is "I have evidence that the seller may be fraudulent". I referenced this thread in the info box and it clearly shows he has been pulling this crap on multiple sites.

Tomorrow, I am at one month since sending money and I haven't heard a peep from the guy. Seriously, he can't get access to the internet in a month, please!

1. We really need to consolidate our discussions. I motion to move all Laminex discussions here as it's a bit more active as far as getting to the nitty gritty of his name address and phone number. I don't know what other groups outside of here and bimmerforums are involved. If you do please direct them here.

2. Thanks for the offer to give up a phone number of a former employer of Chris'. I'd just as soon get an e-mail address for the employer though. I don't know why he'd help us but if the employer still holds a grudge, he might discretely provide a last name and maybe a physical address. That would be a big help. Topless, if you are this previous employer's acquaintance, you've got the number; please give him a ring and see if you can get this critical info. No need to bombard that guy with all us yahoos clamoring for info on this tool.

3. No need to get physical. We can keep to the high road for now and let the implied threat hanging there. I've got kin in the USMC in Buford SC with 2 tours on Iraq under his belt. Maybe him and his buddies are looking for some entertainment ;)

I have filed a dispute with paypal also. Next time I am in Columbia, I will drive around looking for his car, he posted his zip code on BF.c, which would narrow it down to just a couple of neighborhoods, and I am very familiar with the area as I grew up there. I could send some old high school buddies out looking for him, kind of like a treasure hunt with an ass kicking at the end.
