FS: Race helmet

I got a HJC size Large race helmet, Snell and DOT approved, used only for a few laps, payed $100 for it, asking $98 shipped or $90 local pick up

comes with owners manual, sun visor, and 4 breather ducts

Must be snell 2005 legal for most autocrossers

it is 2005, or 2006 i believe, one of those two, i double checked before i purchased it =)

usually it will say SNELL200x somewhere can you find out which year it actually is. im interested.

Ratings are good for 10 years or typically 2 production periods. Production periods are made in 5 year chunks so it's either a 2000, or 2005 if it was recently purchased (or at least it should be). Snell 2000 helmets are still good until 2010 (actually 2011) with every sanctioning body I am aware of.

In OVR [Ohio Valley Region] i think you have to have it checked and it will receive a sticker for being legal till 2015 [if snell 2005 legal] if older they send you back. If its a snell2000 legal helmet that was checked before 2005 then it can be used until 2010. It just depends, but it is good information to know.
