obc backlight has not been tested, but bought off of ebay with the description saying it works fine.

Will this plug and play in an 89 325i or will it need other modification(coding plug, wiring, etc)?

I'm pretty damn sure both the harness and the obc came from an "i" car. Regardless, they should be plug and play.
