I have for sale a completely stock M42B18 engine with 109,760 miles. It is in great condition. It starts well, runs smoothly and quietly. I performed a dry, warm compression test on 1/29/2008. Each cylinder was cranked 5 times. The first compression stroke on all cylinders was very good, spiking the gauge to around 90 psi.

The results are as follows (measured in psi)

    Cylinder 1: 187
    Cylinder 2: 182
    Cylinder 3: 182
    Cylinder 4: 187

Interpretation: Even, normal compression, around what you'd expect on a 100K M42.

£1,000,000.00!!!! WOWOWOW I AM RICH! jk

              Thanks for the recommendation Billy.

nhskibm, yeah we can definitely drop this into your Touring if you'd like. You'd then be able to easily service the engine because all the parts are readily available Stateside!

that's what I was thinking. but then I got to my buddy's shop, where I paid to have him do some work since I'm swamped with year-end and Bankruptcy junk for my soon to be ex-employer and now, there is NO money left for my Touring project.

And this would have been a good, cheap, temporary swap. Oh well.

Guys, shipping to the PNW (or even CA) is prohibitively expensive. We are talking a freight cost of around $400, assuming I drop it off at the freight terminal and you pick it up at the freight terminal. If you need it dropped off at your house that's another $140-160 right off the bat.

I should have mentioned that I prefer local pickup. Sorry guys. Good luck with sourcing an engine from the left coast.
