+1. Seen several with 3.91's and 4.10 opens as well.

So ... I take it this diff will bolt up to a 318is? My 91 is open and I may be interested.

Ugh... if I could find a 3.91 LSD... that would be perfect gearing I think.

I would be VERY interested! I have been trying to find a 4.10 lsd for quite a while now! Do you know how many miles are on it? I live in Wichita, KS so I'm not sure what the shipping cost would be on it. Could I possibly get your e-mail so I could have better contact? It would be great to get one of these under my car before I hit the race track in the Spring!

Yes this diff will work in a 318is, however im not sure if you will have to swap around some parts from the diff that you have now onto the 410, i know it will directly fit a 325 though.

I have a 91 318is and I'm definitely getting one tire fire....so I'm guessing my car lacks the lsd?

yes you have the non lsd on yours, you can also check the tag or if there is an "S" stamped on the bottom of your diff its a lsd. This is a good upgrade for the 318is as the 4.10 small case that our cars came with suck ass...they are weak sauce compared the e30 m3 one, easily broken.

I can tell whether it is OPEN OR CLOSED differential by twisting both ends the opposite way and if it does permit, then it is open LSD, but my 3.73 rear end does not do so, does this mean I have a 2-way? or does all e30 LSD comes open?

Just jack the rear end up and spin one wheel. If it's open, the other one will spin the opposite direction.

LSD diffs were options on e30's the 325is usually came with 3.73 LSD 318is 4.10 open, 325ic 3.91 LSD. I just switched to a 3.73 LSD in my S14 M3 and love it... the 4.10 was too buzzy at Fwy. speeds 3900- 4500 72-85mph... and I am going forced induction so it will need the longer legs.
