There are early and late clusters. By this one's year it seems like its an early one. 90's are late, obviously, and only have one red SI light, whereas the early ones have 3. It's just an easy way to spot the difference. I don't think they are interchangeable. Even so, when you get another cluster its always nice to know what plugs it has on the back, since my old one has 4, iirc, includiing one right behind the speedometer for cruise control I think? I bought another, and it doesn't have that plug. That appears to be the only plug that sometimes isn't there though...
VDO and Motometer are interchangeable.
Pictures are always nice to verify this sort of stuff.
