I'm interested. Does this have the same steering ratio as the 95 m3 rack?

not quite, but it is still a huge upgrade, and around the same price as an e30 rack.

            More specifically,

This seems like quite a popular mod, so I hope you can forgive the question - but wouldn't decreasing the number of turns necessary to go full lock result in less stable/more darty steering at higher speeds? My E30 is already all over the lane at highway speeds if I don't pay attention...
                .

                E30 24V 6MT SOLD :( - look for it in sunny Miami :)

With a very high 4.0 turn ratio you shouldn't be all over the highway. Check your toe in like the above post recommends.

But yes, you will get more responsive steering at high speeds with a lower ratio steering rack. Nothing I would consider remotely dangerous though. These racks were installed on thousands of BMWs from the factory.
