    HELLA Ellips F/S (non-smiley)

I pick up a set of hell ellips with bulbs and the wire leads out of an E34. These lights will obviously work on an E30, but the brackets may not. No chips or cracks. Some minor pitting as usual.

$135 + ship (if you want insurance, i'll add it for whatever it costs)

      1. e34 bracket is different (4 holes instead of 3, and turn signal attachment)
      2. Even with lights out of bracket, they WILL NOT fit into e30 bracket. (the adjustment mounts extend much further)

I test fitted them in my E30 and they work. Maybe the were jerry rigged into the E34.

actually yes they will. just cross-ref the P# for the lights. Identical. Brackets are different as stated in OP. kthxbye.

just the brackets are different, the hella ellips units are the same. you'll just need to get the E30 brackets to make these work.

Edit, looked it up and my parts have more compact ellips for the E30. So it may or may not work with fabrication.

I have both e34 and e30 ellipsoids sitting in the box, and you are full of shit.

As if you don't see the adjuster mounting points being too far out in your own pic. E30 Ellipsoids are more compact.

They work just fine on my E30. Same part numbers too. Like I said in the 4th post, they were probably rigged to work on an E34.

                ***NOTE TO BUYERS***
These lights will work just fine on an E30. I can pics of the P#'s if you want to make sure. And the adjusters are not too long. The brackets will not work light mentioned in OP.

Art, please stay out of my threads. You may feel your knowledge is useful to yourself and some others. It's useless to me. This is the second time in a week that you have thread fucked me. If you don't like them, don't buy them. But keep your comments to yourself unless you are buying.

Matter of fact, i'm just going to start a new clean thread and abandon this one.

Pic of them in e30 then. E34 lights don't mount in e30 bracket, for the last time.

Stop being such a douche. if you yourself don't know, then don't post false information.

And i don't flame your post, because it's your post, I just thought it was important to call out bull-shit, no matter who's thread it is.

Seriously, you are getting on my nerves. Not that you give a shit. But I thought I'd share. You are not gods gift to BMW's so shut your fucking mouth and stay out of my threads. Don't accuse me of not knowing. I mentioned I test fit them in mine and they worked fine. Call out bull shit when you know what you are talking about. In this case it is quite obvious that you don't. So keep your ignorant uneducated comments to yourself.

                      You're such a kid.

What did you test fit? Pig tails? Did they plug into the bulb? And light up too? HOORAY.

I don't think you understand what I am talking about.

Note that on those lights there, the adjuster mounting ears don't stick out past the lens. They are compactly hidden behind the light itself.

Now notice how those same adjustment mounting ears are sticking out from under light housing.

The mounting points for light housings don't match no matter how much you turn or twist them. 5 series adjustments points are spaced out further apart.

I know this, because I have previously thought they would fit, and got a set (luckily for free), and spent a whole lot of time trying to fit. That conquest ended with me using a dremel to modify the light housing and e30 bracket.

I know you think I am giving you hard time for no reason, but you really have no idea what you are talking about.

                      Thanks, Art.

Guess you would know since you seem to be a pretty big asshole.

Calm down, it's only the internet.

Looks like yes, the E30 ellips are more compact. still no reason to be such a dick about it. Here's mine:

I didn't mean to sound like an ass. But i tried explaining nicely. I have nothing against the guy, and wish him the best with sales and everything else.

All I wanted was for him to post correct info. With wrong info around, there will be dozens of noobies looking for e34's at the junk yard tomorrow trying to get ellipsoids. As funny as that would have been, his own credibility would be in question.

OH, and that previous comment wasn't aimed at you NOMAD, lol. I just reread the order of the thread. My bad.

                            We all have those days.

I wonder though if you could trim off some of the plastic tabs and drill a proper hole if it would fit. Looks like it might with some very careful planning.

I hadn't noticed how it sticks out but yeah, getting some E34 ellips that didn't fit would suck. However, if you have an E34 then this is a fine deal.
