    FS: Knocking S52

    PRICE LOWERED!!!

This is the original motor out of my 97 m3. It was a very strong running motor till I started it up one day and hear that nice knocking sound coming from the bottom end. I shut the car off after this and decided to just swap out the shortblock. I have no use for this anymore. The top end looks clean as hell, cams show little wear. Chains show no slack. I havent dropped the oil pan but after discussing what I heard with other people, we all came to the conclusion that the motor is probably going to need new rod bearing. Like i said the motor started right up and ran, never seized up, spins freely with a breaker bar on the crankshaft nut. Motor had 143k on it when this happened. Has been sitting for about six months if that. Need to free up some space!
What you see is what you get (sorry for low image quality ill see what i can do about getting better ones for people who are interested)

Would like to get $1500....I have an e30 m3 to finish :devillook

Most bmw engines you never really have to worry about timing chains anyway they are usually life time.
