Excellent speakers FS: Exile XP5 seperates

Hey guys, just got a great deal from Exile. Bought 6 pair, if more are needed, they will be available for a short time.

The XP5 uses the exact same tweeter and crossover as the speakers in my dash, but a 5.25" midrange. Tiny little thing, super light, amazing sound.

These are kind of unusual drivers, having a neodymium magnet and a non-resonant basket of some high-tech plastic. The sound is incredibly clean, very detailed, but a subwoofer is a really good idea. These have no bass at all, (just ask Ken).

The crossovers are outstanding: excellent tweeter protection, mylar caps, and BI-AMP INPUTS!

A buddy of mine has been rocking these for nearly 2 years with 600WRMS on 2 sets...no issues at all.

The tweeters will fit in the stock premium tweeter housings, but require trimming. I use a high quality cynoacrylic adhesive to mount them.

So, on to the good stuff:

$120 a pair, plus actual shipping!

These retail at $250 a pair, and are an excellent value at this price.

Preferred method of payment is Visa/MC, over the phone. They will ship within 24 hours, your choice of UPS/fedex or the USPS "slow boat to China".

I will post pics shortly, if needed.

    Oh yeah...lowballers, EAD. $120+S, firm.

    Luke

I'll probably pick up a set, I'll let you know.

So a set of these, the E36 Business CD player, your subwoofer box and a nice 12" is what I'm shooting for. Reccomend me an amp and sub!

          Deal of the fucking century.

FYI, my bass response was MUCH improved after covering the inside and outside of the kickpanels with dynamat.

I dunno on that...the mid would fit the stock location, the tweet could be modded to fit the factory location...but what about the stock midrange location? The crossovers would not work well for a 3 way application, either.

So if we did the Exile mid in the door, we could do something, but what are you wanting for bass?

Oh yeah, rears would drop in.

Luke, do these fit in the kick panels?

Yes, a 100% drop in fit.

Same tweeter/crossover you already have, so the upper end is just absolutely amazing.

                  So, 100 bucks shipped luke?

Just kidding man. Some times I wished I just stayed with 5.25, and others I just know I need to get off my ass and fuck around with the x-over in my amp.

Oh, and I'll be keeping track of what you say about a sub box for cabbies. So much for trying to make fiberglass rear seat panels to fit one in the car huh?

No bump bc its already at the top!

not an expert in audio or e30s, but i'm looking to beef up some sound in my 85 318i. it doesn't seem like it has premium sound, so i'd probably like to just replace the current speakers. just bought a kenwood HU.. so would these fair well in this car?

Alen, I STRONGLY recommend using a subwoofer with these.

A single 12" sub, a 4 channel amp and a $150 deck and your car will sound great.

UPDATE: Pics of 1 of each.

Yes, these are the most unusual looking midranges ever, and IMO, the best looking tweeter to ever be put in a car.

Screw the looks, though. The sound is what matters, these deliver.

Soft silk dome neodymium magnet tweeter, Excellent 24db/oct accoustical crossover, Neodymium magnet (the magnet is INSIDE the voice coil!!) true butyl rubber surround 5.25" midrange...these are truly excellent speakers.

2 pair off to Massachusetts today, only 3 more pair in stock!

These DO fit in a premuim sound rear housing with minor tweeter trimming.

So - I kinda forgot about these. If I was to run them in my kick panels would I need double tweeters somewhere? Also, would I need a new amp? FYI the reason I'm asking it I want a little fuller sound. I may even consider mounting them in the back somewhere.
