    No cabrio has early arches.

    same as late model.

This is why most do plastics on cabby's cause no trimming needed

        LISTEN!

Convertibles never had early arches. It wont fit early models? Please know this. Convertibles always had late arches. If this is your basis on it fitting an early model then your wrong.....

        Just sayin':hitler:

However, before I sold it, I briefly checked the fitment on my cabrio (which has late model arches) and it seemed like it would fit that as well.

Why is this? My guess is because with this bumper you are not limited by the late model bumper shocks. Since most likely you'll be making custom mounts you have some adjustability in how close you mount the bumper to the body.

The difference in length between a late model and early model is right at 3/4"

So, If you want it to fit a late model then you bring the bumper up snug to the body and that should make up the 3/4" difference and allow it to line up at the fender arch.

Conversely, on an early model, you would mount the bumper slightly farther away from the body (leaving a small gap) in order for it to line up at the fender arch.

Cliff Notes: Bumper is meant for early model, but may also fit late model cars. Ary needs to bust out the measuring tape and/or photos to confirm this.

OK... The guy i bought the bumper from had it on a early model and I test fitted it on a late and early model and THEY FIT!:hitler:

And also early carbrio's do have early arches. I have 6 e30's and 2 of them are cabrios. One is a 1992 and the other is 1988. The fenders are different 1000%

              Why does it fit both?

              it does not.

this proves it. Im going to bed. Im sleep deprived, not mad. Sorry Ary

We have tried it on both and they FIT On both models there won't be a gap left at the end of the bumper. There is enough room to move the bumper in or out.

You don't seem to understand that it is not possible for one size bumper to FIT both models. That's like saying a plastic bumper from a 88+ E30 will fit ALL model E30s.

You're like a broken record. A pro. body shop has NOTHING to do with the fact that this part is not a direct fit for all model E30 cars.

How about you back this up with some quality pictures? I swear, reading your posts reminds me of the generic responses chinese sellers give people on eBay.

As I mentioned, I personally pulled this bumper off of an early model coupe in the junkyard. It's been over 5 months since I did that and without the bumper in front of me I can't say for certain, but I believe this bumper is the shorter length version made for early models. It just so happens to also fit a late model if you snug the bumper all the way to the body, in the recessed area below the taillights. You can do this because this is just a bumper cover and there are no shocks or mounts to limit how close you can bring the bumper to the body.

Look at the photo below, if you notice on a late model, plastic bumpered e30, there is a 1/2" - 3/4" gap between the rear plastic bumper cover and the recessed area of the body under the taillights. So when you mount this bumper on an early model you will have a similar gap, this is normal.

Conversely, when you mount this shorter bumper on a late model car there will be no gap, as the bumper will be touching the body in order to make up the 3/4" difference. That's not correct fitment, but will still "work".

Anyway, I think the best thing to do is for Ary to show detailed photos of his kits fitment on both early models and late models. Not just one photo, but multiple high res photos showing the gap or lack thereof.

Ary, an 87-91 convertible does not have the same arches as an early model coupe. It may look like it (due to the lack of a rear apron) but if you measure you'll see the rear fender arch on the convertible is the same as all late-model, plastic bumpered e30s.

So to test fitment on an early model e30, you need an 84-87 coupe or sedan

Hi Ary, I personally have no problems with your statement that it fits all models, but then again, I'm not one of your potential buyers.

The issue for your buyers is that when there's a controversial statement that it "fits all models" then you need to have some real evidence to prove this. Your buyers can't take my word for it. You need to have first hand experience fitting this up to an early model coupe yourself and preferably some pictures to go along.

When you have the proof that it does indeed fit all models then people will stop questioning you and may start purchasing the kit.
