FS - 1999 F1 Prost Team Nomex suit

I am located in Montreal (home of the defunct Canadian GP) and have
had one of the Prost mechanics Nomex for 9 years. It is in 9.9/10
condition (only very slight scuff on the wrists) and comes with all
velcro patches and carrying bag. I bought it directly from D. Thierry,
F1 mechanic for the Prost Team.

I wore it myself only once during a Vintage race weekend in Circuit
    Mont-Tremblant. Size 58 fits 6ft tall drivers, weighting 150+lbs

It is now up for sale for $1700usd.

    Sigh.

Seriously nice piece though, I have seen similar F1 suits go for $2k+.

Best of luck with the sale.

How often do the team members sell off their suits?

Seems like a great perk - gotta file an application and get me on one of them teams...

Thanks for the good word TD. Generally, crew suits are worth half of driver suits value (driver suits can even bear astronomical prices if it was worn at a given event where a pole position was reached).

I understand that the suit I sell is above average (crew suit) price, but the condition is exceptional, and I have never seen a crew suit come with all the patches. That suit is almost like new. No stain, no scuff, no excuse.

Crew will sell their suit once a year. You have to access the hot pits and paddocks, and ask them. Let's just say that a friend of mine was technical advisor and did the F1 inspections before the races, and asked directly to D. Thierry if he could buy his suit. I then had the suit shipped to me at the end of the season.
