Well, the truth is I don't know yet. I bought a car off a guy who paid someone to change the chain, and they reinstalled one cam in the wrong place. It ran but I could hear the banging. It wasn't driven very far. I can turn it by hand and at least one valve on number one is slow coming back. The engine may be toast, I just dont know.
I haven't pulled the head yet so I cant tell you how many I need. I suppose I should ask how many valves you have?

I think we are both in the same spot. I need to get the head from this motor and send it to the machine shop to know if the head is good or if it's cracked.

This car broke the intake cam shaft between cylinder 3 & 4. Until I take it to the shop I won;t know what parts are good and what parts aren't.
