    E30 6 cyl CAI / Ram air

    bid now!
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...19#ht_2489wt_0
I'm selling a kamotors CAI setup for BMW e30's with 6 cylinder engines like the 325i and 325 e. With this kit you can have a true Cold Air Intake setup. Usually when people want to get a cold air setup they end up removing there high beam or cutting a hole in the car to get air from below, but with this kit you can easily redirect air from the grill into the filter. It only takes 1/2 an hour to install this kit. This kit can also hook up to your stock air box(if you cut the hose shorter)The cooler the air the more power,If you are just using a cone filter you are actually losing power because of the hot engine bay air your filter is breathing, A heatshield blocks the hot air but you aren't really getting cooler outside air to your filter unless you have this CAI setup because it directs all the out side air that hits that part of your grill and ducts it either into or around your filter, with this kit your filter won't reach temps above the outside air temp. this kit looks almost invisible when fully installed from the outside. This kit was designed on a car with a Euro grill, so to install it on a U.S grill will require an alternate mounting method for ex. glue, epoxy, zip tie, or making a bracket or a clip.

A heat shield alone isn't enough!

    Kit includes

    1-Kamotors heat shield

    2-black couplers
(not the rubber elbow in the picture)

    1-K&N ram air hose

    1- grill adapter for elbow.

    1- 8"x5.5"True Flow filter,washable

    "Reasons to buy

The denser and colder the air entering your engine, the more efficient it runs.By installing a cold air intake you give your engine what it really wants. The result is more horsepower and torque as your engine taps into power that would have otherwise have gone to waste. An efficiently operating engine eats up less gas and a cold air intake delivers better overall fuel economy because the engine does not have to work as hard. Greater efficiency equals better fuel mileage. A cold air intake produces a throaty intake tone when traveling around town or while moving down the highway."

    Installation of hose
remove grill, attach the adapter to the back of the grill using screws or any method you want,(NO cutting of the grill is required or necessary the opening is already there.), run hose under the headlights and up to the filter, either point the hose at filter for a true CAI or attach using a coupler to your Ram air filter.note- early model cars will need to cut a notch in the shield to fit around the plugs. minor modification will be needed.

Shipping may take up to 7 days, but is likely to ship within 3 days. Please be patient, and contact me when ever you want for order updates or questions.

I'll let everyone know how that filter works and what it takes to install it.

I know that my shields fit the M30 AFM,stock AFM, the megasquirt setup I had which was a 3" pipe, but I'm not sure of the Ford MAF, if its 3inches in diameter, or even bigger I can just cut a bigger hole, AFM/MAF doesn't really effect the fit of the shield, IF the MAF is close to the same length as the AFM it will work just fine.

bump, testing new filter today and tomorrow, and will have real time temp results.

Is this the same setup as the patented one on eBay?

the UPS man hasn't brought the filter yet it should be hear around 3:00 or 4:00. my shields fit the M30 AFM perfect. bigger injectors and M30 AFM was the best upgrade so far for my car.

                      DATA 1
let car warmup for 5 minutes,I drove 5 miles downhill at 55mph, drove at 15mph for 5minutes,let car sit for 5 minutes, stopped at 1 traffic light, drove uphill at 60MPH for 5 miles.I will do the same tommorow with this CAI kit installed and see what kind of a difference it makes.

unshielded cone filter-the intake temperature was 25* hotter than the outside temp.

I'm uploading a video of how it sounds from inside the car, throttle response is great with this kit.

have you done testing with the original airbox, and is there a butt dyno increase?
