FS Close Ratio 260 Trans and driveshaft E30 M3

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blanton built CR 260 Trans for the S14 and custom length driveshaft for the E30 M3.

Paid $3000 for the Trans and $500 for the custom length driveshaft

I am selling the trans and shaft for $2200obo--- 3k miles---

Only selling since I have got a different track car I will be using

Gears are 2.74/1.57/1.22/1.0/.87 was running it with a 4.45 gearset, but would work well with a 4.10 or even 3.73 if you wanted to spread the gears out some...

I have the gearing graphs for the 4.10 and 4.45 if anyone is interested.

Probably not a good fit for the car that Seth is building, but a really nice trans from the most respected builder in the US...

This trans is a definite must-have for a track car.

                Bump---

                Anyone?

I am open to any offers.... I spent $4000, asking $2000 but would take $1500 if someone offered... includes the driveshaft no longer has center bearing but not a big deal...

I want it, and now would be the time for me to buy it, but I don't have anywhere the sort of funds to get it.

Not to say that it's not worth it, because that's a steal on a new(ish?) built close ratio getrag.

                  good luck with sale.

I think I'm confused, but maybe not. An E30 M3 Transmission is a Getrag 265, right? This is the 260, which is the same as in the E30 325, correct? Now the gears in a standard 260 are 3.83/2.20/1.40/1.00/0.81. So I take it that this is not a dogleg, just a standard 260 rebuilt with custom closer gears. Correct again?

Then this will fit in place of any E30 325 transmission as well? Do you still have the paperwork from Blanton?

this is not the euro dog leg box.

265 is an m3 gear box... correct, 260 is a 325i gear box but also in other models...

Anyways the front half comes from the big 6 that was in other chassis that mates up to the e30 m3... Jim Blanton would be a better knowledgeable resource for actual facts of how this all works... if you are serious about contacting Jim- email him at jim@performancegearing.com

I contacted Jim to have a CR box built for my car, this started when I was interested in the euro dog leg box... I could find them for $1500-2000 but no guarantee that they were solid... anyways he suggested that he makes all custom gearing using different starting platforms of boxes... gave me price ranges on the different boxes and I picked the $3200 one for the gearing I liked best... This gearing is tighter than the euro box plus has OD for driving to the track/ cruising... I do having the gearing graphs for all the options I was looking at plus the stock graphs...

I am not sure how it would bolt up to a 325i so I can't say it will... I know that the front half can be swapped with the the e30 m20 to be a direct bolt/ offset but I don't know the cost....

I took your advice and contacted Jim. He said, and I quote "Unfortunately, the 260CR has a front housing with the bolt pattern that only fits S14/M30 blocks."

So, unfortunately, it will not just fit on an E30 325. Sorry, I thought maybe we could increase your pool of possible buyers.

thanks for contacting him, I have been busy and haven't thought too much about this post... or contacting him...

No problem, it turns out that there are more than one G260. The one on the E30 325 is G 260/5 and the one that mates up to the big six (and thus also the S14) is a G 260/6.
