I amassed a large collection of M21 (BMW 80's diesel) engine parts in hopes to swap it into my offroad E30 iX build, but have some serious challenges with the oiling system that only plague the iX.
So I'm considering parting ways with my collection. I've gotten some good deals on a lot of this stuff, and combined a few different stashes I picked up. These pictures are just from the first big collection I picked up, they don't show some of the other stuff.
Here's a quick overview of what I have:
* One block with 5 pistons and crankshaft that would be just for parts (or it /might/ be able to be run, we can talk more)
* One brand new piston and rod
* One complete (was running) engine with a good bottom end and most likely cracked head (this is just as assumption, it could be good!)
* 3 cracked heads for parts
* 1 brand new in box AMC head
* 1 custom MLS headgasket (GasketsToGo)
* E30 324td cluster
* E28 324td and E30 324td wiring harnesses
* Stock turbo, downpipe
* 2 VE pumps (one was recently rebuilt but there's more details)
* Single mass flywheel that was pinned for the tach pickup
* Many powdercoated parts
* + a ton of other stuff I don't have space to list
This is a pretty cool setup that can make for a pretty fun time. These engines are very reliable if you manage the heat to prevent the head cracking, and this swap is pretty damn easy in a normal E30.
I got some very good deals on this stuff so I'd pass it on to the buyer. Would be looking for $2k for the entire lot, which is less than I have into everything.
