            Well... Couple of things.

First realization that I don't need that much power, the mm m30 is rated 300+ hp

Second the added weight up front, which is not significant but still a consideration.

Lastly, while m30 swaps are common(I mean that in terms of know how, not that they are over done), this is a project my brother and I want to do on our own and take our time doing it. A m20 swap is much more straight forward then the m30.

Who knows if I dont get what Im asking it may still go in the car.

That's right where it should be! the m20 is cool, but the m30 would be even more...

zm blue devil, i've got a m30 in my 88 3er and i love it! it's in position two so i couldn't feel a difference in weight except when corner diving real hard but i also deleted the power steering. sure parking is a b**ch but on the autobahn it's awesome. with a g265 tranny and s373 diff i top out at about 135-140mph on a bone stock motor. the diff makes a huge difference so if you have the proper diff for that sport tranny you'll be hauling ass! you sure you don't want to reconsider?

Wow that's so much money to spend on a motor+tranny+diff!
I'm sure it's amazing, but for that kind of money you can build a nice supercharged s52 with a 6 spd, 5-lug, wheels, and then some.
