Getrag 250 Trans - Twin Cam swap guys, Hello

Getrag 250 non overdrive trans from a 1994 E34. Ratios are 4.23 - 2.52 - 1.66 - 1.22 - 1.00. This is perfect for the twin cam swap guys, but is also a good upgrade to the M20 powered cars. It's not going to be too hard to make this work behind an M20 and it's a cheap way to have a close ratio trans.

The donor car was very clean, but wrecked. Couldn't turn on the electronic cluster to read the odometer though.

Comes with a decent Guibo that is the standard E30 drive shaft flange size. You don't need to find the scarce 1987 325e drive shaft with large Guibo that is required for the Z-F swap. Rear mounts are good too. Also the slave cylinder is included.

I have to thank Jean for helping me pull it as my back was FUBAR that day.

    $200.00 + Shipping from Sacramento.

The ratios in this trans are much better than the E30 Getrag 260. I have two and don't need them both. Shipping won't be a deal killer as it isn't that big and heavy.

Hate to sound like a r3v'er, but if you have it next week, I may pounce.

Hey, because of the downturn in the National economy I am now accepting lay-a-ways!!! Just like Sears did when I was a kid. Send me $100 and I'll sit on it for you.

will there be anything unexpected in the 5 spd swap process if i use this instead of the e30's 260? if not expect my $100 deposit asap.

This isn't a bolt in swap. To use this trans behind the M20 you are going to have to do some of the same mods that you would do to use the Getrag 260 behind the twin cam engine, except you need to move the trans the opposite way. I mocked this up a few months ago with an M20 short block and the trans sitting on a work bench. I have to modify the rear trans mount, modify the shift linkage, and refit the M20 bell housing brace. I still need to drop all of this in the car and see how the trans fits in the tunnel, but I haven't touched this project for at least the last two months and don't know when I can start working on it again.

There just isn't any serious interest in this trans and I thought $200 was a pretty good price. I'm going to just use it as a core trade in next week to get it out of my garage.

Will it work on a s52 swap? What else do I need?

Yes, it's perfect for your s52 and as far as I know it's plug and play. The mounts won't need any mods and the output flange will match your driveshaft. I haven't done the twin cam swap, but hunderds of people have and there is lots of info available.
