I have been told to use the 87 and it is a direct plug in to an M30B35 engine.

That is the one to use since it does not have the quick disconnect harness like the 88+ ones do, you should only have to extend 11 wires using that one.
Ive been getting them from the junkyards for the swap since they arent too hard to find.
