Orion Cobalt 260 $70
JBL P422 5" component system $50
Pioneer 4" coaxial speakers $25
Crossover for the entire system $40

Take it all for $300. I am local. This is really, REALLY, nice old school equipment. Thats the best way to go on a budget. Grab a subwoofer for $50 and you have a system that your friends will envy and keep you grinning ear to ear. I have pictures too if you'd like them.
