WTB: e28 3.25 differential for e30 or taller

Looking to get a tall gear set for better fuel economy than that of my 4.10 in my 318is.

Please let me know what you have and price shipped to 61525. Pictures would be helpful.

    Thanks.

I hope you live in flat land. I think your initial acceleration will be rather leisurely, and if you had to climb a hill you'd be, or your "IS", would be very unhappy.

I've heard of some guys running 3.73's.

Read up on what lug is, giving a car with almost no torque down low and a taller rear end can be detrimental to your goals....think engine having to work harder to turn the diff.

Have you guys used a 4.10 final drive in a 5 speed before? First gear is damn near useless. Even for this little m42 the 4.10 is way overkill, imo. I am in need of "highway" gears for long commutes on the interstate. I would be happy with a 2.93 from an eta if anyone has one to spare.

I have a 2.93 limited slip from an ETA that I can sell for $250 shipped or a 3.73 limited slip for $350 shipped. Let me know.

I ran down to Portland on I5 and kept up with traffic or threw on an extra nickel and was getting 32mpg.

But I have to agree 1st gear goes real quick.

I just slapped a 3.64 open in there today, will drive it 170+miles tomorrow to see how it does. Thanks for the input.
