WTB Leaky 95 m3 steering rack (Houston, TX)

I got rid of power steering and it's great! But it's a pain to autox with the 4 turn lock to lock. Anyone have a leaky 95 m3 rack they're looking to get rid of? I'd also consider anything else with a smaller ratio under 3 turns lock to lock. I'm in Houston, TX.

    Thanks!

A 95 m3 rack is indeed 3.0 but the z3 racks are told to be regular e36 3.2 L2L ratio's with travel limiters resulting in an effective 3.2 ratio with a larger turning radius. Many threads have covered this topic. 95 M3 racks are out there, I suggest scouring bimmerforums classifieds in the complete parts cars section. There seems to always be a 95 m3 being parted. I just found a good m3 rack for 190 shipped.

Thanks guys for the info, I guess I was confused on the 2.7 being out of an m3. I'll look on bimmerforums, but ideally the rack I'm looking for is not in good shape, in other words it's leaking and I'll be able to get my hands on it for cheaper since I'm going to take it apart and de-power it anways. I can settle for 3 turns lock to lock, not sure at this point about 3.25 but I'll let you know!

        Thanks again...

i am going to replace the rack in the 95 m3 i just bought because it's leaking.
pm me with an offer on it. The rack was replaced 3 years ago by the previous owner, but it is leaking again because it sat for 2 years.

95 racks are gray. If your PO replaced it, it might just be an e36 unit, as the 95s are like $700+ from parts stores in comparison to like $300 something. Juusstt saaayying.

BTW this debate will never end. No one has done a definitive study btw all the racks. A lot of people say 2.7 z3 rack is the shortest, but it's not progressive like the 95, whatever that means....I don't know.
