Going to scrap,Car is worthless without either, They said a blown block is fine.

What the hell is going on, how could the work of acquiring and installing a blown motor/tranny be worth whatever monetary gain this is going to yield. Scrap metal is around $175 a ton right now, so the 600 lbs or whatever an m20/tranny weighs is what, $50? Is insurance taking the car or something? What's buy back, $200? Sorry for not adding anything helpful but I feel like something silly is going on here and you should rethink it
